Park Vibes

This past weekend was somewhat relaxing. I woke up at an ungodly hour on Saturday to get ready for work and somehow managed to run on caffeine only. I got off at three so that was the upside of getting off that early. After that I headed over to the park for a cousins birthday and decided to do a mini shoot with my cousin and the two photo's above are the results. Since it was so early in the morning I slipped on an easy midi tee dress, tied a chambray shirt around my waist to break up the stripes and tied my crazy hair into a knot bun sort of thing which amazingly turned out okay. I usually am in some sort of heel, but there was no way I was going to wear heels that early in the morning.

Currently, it's a super dreary rainy day and I am sitting in Barnes and Noble at the Starbucks and am thinking of different types of posts to add to this blog. Possibly a "Must Have" list for spring is in mind and will be posted in the near future. School is ending soon so I better get back to this final project. Must write a business pitch to win this competition in class! Need. That. A.

Trend Alert: Palm Print/ The Islander

Entire outfit from Nordstrom's Junior Department
Shoes: Dolce Vita for Target
Belt: Old Navy
Summer's just around the corner and I've been noticing a new type of print peeking through. Palm Print! I absolutely adore this new print because it puts me in the mood for summer and makes me feel like I'm vacationing on a tropical island.. For you guys out there who are a little timid of this print, try starting out with a basic, like a top as I did above and accessorize with a studded handbag to add contrast and a fun hat. For those of you feeling more bold, try a matching blazer and pant combo. Bottom pics are great examples! Definitely need more palm in the closet.

Cherry Blossom Festival (super late post)

I experienced the famous Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. for the first time the other week and it was so beautiful. Walked around the entire Tidal Basin taking in the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Washington Monument, and the hundreds and hundreds of blooming cherry blossom trees. The weather was beyond perfect, whereas, my hair on the other hand....not so perfect.

Alexander Wang

Alexander Wang Nadine Suede Ankle Boot

Alexander Wang Nadine Suede Ankle Boot

Jeffrey Campbell Melina Cut out Boot

If you can't opt for a pair of beautiful Alexander Wang booties, I found a perfect steal. These Nadine Suede booties are literally perfection and I can't tell you enough how obsessed I am with them, but me being a poor college student has left me financially handicapped at the moment. Today I stumbled across a pair of cut out ankle boots that resembled the Wang booties, but still had it's own sense of personality. Jeffrey Campbell just came out with a pair called the Melina Cutout Boot and I must say that I am kind of obsessing.
