How To: Summer Layers

Sometimes I get bored of wearing the same old shorts and tank during the summer and am in need of layers. Here's a great summer layering trick! I'm sure every girl has a summer dress; so grab your favorite summer dress and a sheer crochet top; throw your top over your dress and voila! I've found this works best with a spaghetti strap dress and if you're feeling adventurous, choose a printed dress because that print will look great against the crochet texture. Add cute sandals or dress it up with boots and you're good to go! Feel free to share your look with me! I never want summer to end!

Summertime Blanc

Nothings better than a matching printed suit, and it's even better if it's white. This is one of my favorite tops that I own that's from Topshop; you can dress it up or down, tucked in or out, you can't go wrong. I love how the top makes the suit super fresh looking, but at the same time with the mix print of the top and suiting it keeps it young and trendy. The suit I bought from H&M a long time ago and unfortunately, being a fast fashion retailer, they don't sell it any more. Let's hope that H&M brings something like this back!

Cobalt

My mom bought me this beautiful long cobalt wool coat from a random boutique when she went to NYC. I was really proud of her. I wanted the jacket to really pop so I wore a neutral palette that consisted of this really cute pastel pink tiered dress and to incorporate texture I put on a fitted faux fur vest. To top off the look I added a floppy felt hat and a pair of simple nude heels. I'm currently obsessed with Alex and Ani bracelets and I have yet to add more to my collection. If you don't know about them please look them up. It's one of those things where when you start and can't stop. Help me please.

Lost and Found

After profusely looking for my leather jacket, alas, I found it! Wore it to work the other day with a white V-neck, boyfriend jeans, plaid shirt tied around the waist and my favorite ankle strap heels. 90's grunge chic can you say?

The Sweater Weather Post

Three words: I. Love. Sweaters. Over-sized sweaters that is. I can't stress enough how hard it is for me this year to find the perfect sweater, but I finally found the winner for $20 at H&M which is such a steal. Rather than wearing it with leggings and classic tall boots, I decided to have fun with it by wearing a white skirt from a suit set of mine. This dresses down the skirt, but dresses up the sweater at the same time so you have the perfect combination of dressed up casual. Adding the knee high socks with my ankle boots and my favorite hat of course completes the whole look by giving it a sense of coziness. In the meantime, the hunt continues for more sweaters.

Autumn Essential

Autumn is finally here! I felt the chill in the air today and was so ready to pull out all of my fall clothes. The one essential I must have for Autumn is a great (faux) fur vest. I got this one from H&M last season and am obsessed with it because of how its so simple and fitted. It doesn't make me look like Chubaka.
To make my classic white button down more interesting I buttoned it and tied it at the bottom into a knot. Then I paired it with the vest and wore these amazing two toned pants; leather in the front, knit in the back. Finish it with a great pair of minimalist heels and a hat and you're set to go.

All In Good Company

Hello Loves! My last class was on Monday so before that my friend Geovanny and I went out to get Rita's Italian Ice to celebrate an extremely successful semester. Now I just have to wait another week to officially graduate! So excited an proud of myself! Today was a relaxing day off. I went Mother's Day shopping and had a late lunch, early dinner with my beautiful friend Natasha. I threw my favorite chambray over my outfit which completed the look. Outfit post is below. We feasted over spicy chicken parmesan wings and Bruschetta (spelling?) topped with mint Mojitos. NOM. Right now I'm on this HUGE health and work out kick so you can guarantee I went home and burned off all the calories I pretty much inhaled.

Snow Day

Yes, I know my goal of posting every other day hasn't gone as planned, but don't fear, I'm still alive and well. Good news!! I got the the internship!! I start in June so there goes my summer pretty much. I'm really excited to have a change in scenery at work and to just meet new people too. I also modeled for my friend's boutique that is going to be launching online really soon!! It was so much fun so look out for the Lita Nicole boutique! I will be posting pics in the really near future. Other than that, it's been school and work day and night. Last week, my professor cancelled class 45 minutes before and by then the weather was already really bad. Almost got stranded, but at least I've would've been stranded in style.

Internship

Recently just had an internship interview with Nordstrom and it well really well. I should know by this coming week if I get it or not. If I get this internship this will help me so much with moving up into the company and hopefully get into visuals. Keep your fingers crossed!!!

Floral and Fur

Please kindly excuse my lack of posts. I've been working profusely working on inspiration boards and fashion illustrations for class that I have had no time to stop and blog. The outfit above I wore last night for my Grandpas birthday dinner. I mixed a Kirna Zabete floral top with an H&M fur vest with faux leather leggings paired with my favorite Micheal Kors boots all topped off with my Rebecca Minkoff bag. It was a really great time spending time with the family, laughing, and eating endless amounts of sushi, edamame, and miso soup. Food coma was the result.

Let's do this

This semester is my last semester at my school. I will finally be graduating with an Associates in Fashion Design after many years of being indecisive and trying to figure out where I want to go in life. After school I plan to take online classes to get a Bachelors in Business. One thing that I learned during this journey is that I am NOT a fashion designer whatsoever. I am more of a visual person who sees great pieces and puts them together to make them great as a whole such as a creative director, stylist, merchandiser, etc.... In the mean time before all of that happens, I applied for a Retail Management internship at Nordstrom which hopefully, crossing my fingers, I will get. This should help me grow within the company and let me work my way up.

Christmas and New Years (heavy picture post.)

Forgive me for the late post about the holidays. Like I said before, a lot of things have been going on. I finished school for the fall semester and then went straight to work full time and then the holidays came around therefore making not enough time to sit down and write all my wandering thoughts out. But here I am, it's a new year and I plan to post at least every other day or every two days.

Starting off with Christmas. It was a relaxing day; I woke up early to open up gifts with the familia. I didn't ask for anything this past Christmas, but my parents surprised me with an iphone 4! Finally I'm out of the hipster phone phase and into the updated world. I'm really loving my new phone. My boyfriend and I also exchanged gifts over Skype. He surprised me with a Rebecca Minkoff cross body and a beautiful Michael Kors watch along with other little gifts on the side. I bought him two tops and a  Burberry watch. Yea he was just as surprised as I was. The rest of the day my family relaxed and laid in our beds playing on our new gadgets.

New Years was a grand affair. I rang in the new year with...wait for it...the Backstreet Boys. My cousin and I went to the venue which was a casino and downstairs was a bar and arena type of area. So many people came out as you can imagine. There was loud music, drinks, and so many girls fancied out with sparkles galore. I wore a high-low chiffon skirt with a tulip cut in the front, a cropped somewhat sequined top, ankle boots, and sheer thigh highs to give the out fit a more mature look you could say. When the Backstreet Boys came out everyone was screaming like little girls at a One Direction concert. They sang their classics and some new songs all the way until 12:30 a.m. and even rung in the new year with us. I ended the night with a cheese steak and fries.
